Restaurant Guide For Aruba

Aruba Restaurant Reviews

Below is a list of Restaurants visited during my trip. All of the locations were in walking distance of Radisson Aruba Resort (Now the Hilton). For those staying in the Palm Beach area, there are a lot of great choices of restaurants in walking distances of the hotels and many reasonably priced choices.

List of Restaurants Visited:
  • Smokey Joe's
  • Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill
  • Salt 'n Pepper
  • Casa Tua Pizzeria
  • Amore Mio
  • Wacky Wahoo's
  • Gellatissimo
  • Aromi d'Italia
  • The Bread Basket
  • Gilligan's
  • Mira Sol
  • La Creperie
  • Dunkin Donuts
Shrimp, Rice & Beans and French Fries from
Smokey Joe's
1. Smokey Joe's

The minute you walk up to Smokey Joe's you can see a bright and colorful atmosphere. It is very unique with colorful chairs and tables. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very nice. The food was good, especially the rice and beans.

View From Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill
2. Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill

This is a fun restaurant to visit. It is right on De Palm Pier and was right next to our hotel. It is good when sitting on the beach because you can just walk over in your bathing suit for lunch. They have happy hour and you can walk over to get cheap drinks. There are karaoke nights making it a good place to visit at night for drinks. The view is beautiful because your right over the water. Be careful because it gets very windy and menus can fly over into the water. The food is okay, but it is not amazing. The chicken quesadillas were not the best, but the sate platter was good.

3. Salt 'n Pepper

Salt 'n Pepper was very reasonably priced and the food was good. They have a bunch of different salt and pepper shakers all over. We sat outside and it was nice, but they also have indoor seating. If there is a wait you can walk around the different little stores that are right outside from the restaurant. (Website: http://www.saltandpepperaruba.com/)

Shrimp Bruschetta From Casa Tua Pizzeria
4. Casa Tua Pizzeria

This was definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Everything that we ordered tasted really good. I especially recommend the penne vodka. The penne vodka was better than some of the places I've had it at in the U.S. (Website: http://www.casatuaaruba.com/)

Margherita di Bufala Pizza for Amore Mio
5. Amore Mio

This was right across from our hotel, so it was a perfect pick for our second night in Aruba. Apparently, you can't go wrong with Italian food in Aruba. It is a little more on the expensive side, but the food was really good. The shrimp (Scampi Arrostiti) and the artichoke (Carciofi Ripieni) appetizers are really good. Only negative I would say was the pesto alla genovese pizza had a lot of  pesto on it , but if you like homemade pesto than you may like the pizza. It was okay, just not the best.

Wacky Wahoo's
6. Wacky Wahoo's

This is a popular restaurant in Aruba, but it is definitely not what we expected. It was further out from all the other restaurants, it is not on the main strip. When you walk up to it, you almost don't even want to go inside. The inside is very small and the food is way overcharged. They also have long waits, but we got lucky because the people before us got up and left after looking at the menu. It is mostly all fish and not a good place to bring picky eaters. For the price of the food it should have been amazing, but it was not. Personally I would not recommend going to Wacky Wahoo's.

Gelato from Gellatissimo
7. Gellatissimo

Right next to Amore Mio, this was a good gelato place to go to. It is way better than the gelato on De Palm Pier. It is a little weird because you order at the cash register and then go and give your receipt to get the ice cream, but it is very modern.

8. Aromi d'Italia

It is a little gelato shop attached to an Italian restaurant. It is a small place and there is no place to sit and eat. With that said, the gelato was my favorite. It was some of the best gelato compared to the other places. The oreo gelato is really good.

9. The Bread Basket

This is a little place attached to Aruba Watersports. It is right on the beach and it was next to our hotel. You can get lunch and bring it back to the beach. The sate chicken sandwich was good and cheap. Also, it is very convenient since it is right on the beach, we would go get ice cream bars. Many people would go get coffee and frapuccinos from there. The girls that work there are really nice.

Drinks From Gilligan's

10. Gilligan's

Gilligan's is one of the restaurants at the Radisson Resort (Now the Hilton). It is good if your staying on the property for breakfast, lunch and drinks. There is not much fruit in Aruba, like you would expect most Caribbean places to have, but Gilligan's has a nice fruit bowl. They have gluten free bread, which is a plus. For lunch order the nachos and shrimp cocktail. Order a virgin milky way, it is like an oreo milkshake. We would get drinks during happy hour because they are half price.

Cheese Platter From Mira Sol
11. Mira Sol

This is another one of the restaurants at the Radisson Resort (Now Hilton). They have snacks and drinks. The chicken sandwich and cheese platter were good. It it up higher so it has a pretty view of the resort and waterfalls. There are a lot of lizards and iguanas by the restaurant.

Crepe From La Creperie

12. La Creperie

It is a little stand outside from the mall. It is good if you want to have a quick dessert without going to a restaurant. The crepes are good and the price is reasonable.

13. Dunkin Donuts

Right on De Palm Pier, it is perfect for a quick breakfast in the morning. They have a limited selection, but you can get donuts, coffee and a egg sandwich in the morning.
